Prime Minister wishes Mongolian WorldSkills competitors luck in Brazil Mongolian vocational school students are attending the World­Skills Com­­petition for the first time Prime Minister Ch.Saikhan­bileg wished the young people who are preparing to attend the WorldSkills Competition in Brazil good luck, and handed over the national flag to be flown in Brazil.
Mongolia is taking part in the WorldSkills Competition for the first time this year. The 43rd edition, being helSd in Sao Paulo from August 11 to 16, is expected to surpass the record number of competitors registered for the competition, with 1,200 competitors from over 60 countries in 50 skills. In Leipzig, Germany, in 2013 – nearly 1,000 participants from 53 countries and regions competed for medals in 46 skills. The Mongolian team of 23 vocational students are heading to Brazil on August 4. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude that not only artists and athletes are representing Mongolia in international competitions. The Mongolian competitors will be exhibiting their talents in wall and floor tiling, cooking, hairdressing, beauty therapy, joinery, bricklaying, CNC turning, welding, and electrical installation. The WorldSkills Competition occurs every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world. The competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from WorldSkills’ member countries and regions. They will demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for which they study and will perform in the future. Throughout its 65 year history, the competition brings together the best young people from around the world in their chosen profession. They represent the best students selected in local and national skills competitions for professional education.
